A Premium Price for a Very Poor Customer Experience

Do not believe a single word on the KK Cruises website. They market
themselves as a premium boutique experience with 'elite customer care,' but
they operate like a financial scam. We settled our full invoice for the
Mediterranean itinerary weeks ago. Yesterday, we received a cold, automated
email stating we were being rebooked to a later date because the vessel was
overbooked. We didn't agree to a rebooking! We planned our entire annual
leave around this specific week. I am tracking the vessel online, and the boat is
actively sailing right now. Why is the ship departing when your booking system
is completely broken? If you can't honor the contract, why are you out at sea
with our cash? Absolute thieves.

This is a serious situation, and I'm genuinely sorry you're dealing with this. Overbooking a sailing after you've paid in full and arranged your schedule around confirmed dates isn't a minor hiccup—that's a breach of contract, and your frustration is completely justified.

Here's what I'd recommend immediately: Document everything. Screenshot that automated email, your payment confirmation, the original booking confirmation showing your original sailing date, and any communication about the rebooking. If the ship is actively at sea with paying passengers, KK Cruises needs to explain why your booking was overbooked in the first place. Request a written explanation (not another automated response) detailing:
- Why the overbooking happened
- Why you weren't offered alternatives before rebooking
- What compensation they're offering beyond just moving your dates

If they won't budge on a full refund or keeping you on your original sailing, escalate to your credit card company's dispute department—that's your financial safety net here. You may also want to consult with a consumer protection attorney in your jurisdiction, especially if the rebooking causes documented losses (unused time off, changed flights, etc.).

The cruise community should know about this experience. Consider posting details in our forums so other travelers can stay informed about booking practices.
