My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next March and I want to surprise them with a cruise. They've never been on one before and they're both in their mid-70s.
Here's where I'm stuck:
- They're not super adventurous eaters (steak and potatoes kind of people)
- Dad has mild mobility issues (can walk fine but stairs are tough)
- Mom gets carsick sometimes — will she get seasick?
- They're early risers who go to bed by 9pm
I'm torn between a shorter 4-night to test the waters or going all-in with a 7-night Caribbean. Budget is around $3-4K total for both of them in a balcony cabin.
Am I overthinking this? Has anyone booked a cruise for elderly parents who've never cruised before? How did it go?
